Now that a pied à terre has been selected, it needs furnishing and markets are a great place to start. Brocantes/flea markets are held in just about every city and village and on any given day throughout France, making shopping for that new place a daily adventure. Vaison’s Sunday brocante offers up purchasing opportunities a plenty to fill every room, and then some.
This blue campaign bed stole my heart. I f only I could have gotten it home…I have mailed packages from France before, but this one was a bit out of my league. Quel dommage. A dress dummy would make a nice addition to the market look, well maybe for the ladies.
A desk and armoire would finish out a guest room, perhaps? Old metal birdcages can add a playful touch, or even cage a bird.
A pair of Louis XV-inspired chairs make a lovely addition to a living room and tables are available to complete the vignette. Maybe a bit too matchy-matchy for my taste, though.
An entryway catch-all bench perhaps? Another pairs of chairs plus a dresser await a buyer and a new home.
This broad selection of café chairs offered a choice for every style of decor, plus a most-fair Snow White mirror to reflect upon.
A well-fitted bar is essential for entertaining all the friends and family who visit you in your new abode. No problem here, as long as you fancy beer glasses.
If kickin’ it old school is your style when serving leg of lamb, then you would have been in luck! This carving set even includes a tool for holding on to the bone without messing your fingers.
Some lovely perfume bottles and atomizers can add a lovely feminine touch to a guest bath.
If all of this staid, traditional decor is not your speed, never fear. Rainbow retro just might be staging a comeback at a brocante near you.
