We all have dreams…

I dream of living in Paris someday, if only for a while….shedding all the trappings of my typical American life and moving to the city that has captured my heart.

I imagine strolls along the Seine, fresh baguettes warm from the oven, sipping a café au lait at a favorite spot as I watch Paris life pass by.

I imagine speaking French in complete sentences and actually being understood.

I imagine walking our son to school…all dreams contain some reality…and then stopping at our favorite patisserie on our way home.

I imagine picking my way through the brocantes/flea markets in search of vintage tableware and linens.

I imagine weekend train trips to Provence.

I imagine walking through the snow at Christmas time.

I imagine everything would go according to plan…that really would be a dream.

I imagine sharing all of my adventures along the way.

I dream of doing all of these things so one day, I could say yes, I have lived in Paris…if only for a while.

Where do you dream of living?

  1. I dream of living in Paris sometime too. I’ve put living in Paris for a year on my bucket list. I did laugh at your imagining of speaking French in complete sentences. I used to be able to do that (nearly 30 years ago!) but just this afternoon I started a French in 3 months course. It was pathetic how much I’d forgotten. Ah well, hopefully something will come back, and one day I’ll get to using it whilst living in France.

What’s that sating about if we don’t use it, we lose it? ;) It will all come flooding back…or maybe trickle. I need to get back to work on my French, too, obviously.
