I’m back from a pre-Christmas trip to Paris and I have so much to share…but more on that later. Lately, there has been a lot of buzz about this store, merci, situated in the city’s hip 3rd arrondissement.
Situated in an old wallpaper factory, this eclectic, light-filled shop covers three floors…
and makes me wish (even more) that I had an apartment in Paris to decorate.
Linens, tableware, lighting, even flower and garden solutions make up just some of merci’s selection. Fashion has its place here as well, with an enticing variety of clothing items and accessories…
and when hunger strikes, refuel from one of three cafés scattered about the shop: the Used Book Café offers a light breakfast and overlooks this pretty courtyard.
The Cinema Café faces the street and offers charcuterie, salad, and soups plus a great chocolate torte; I began my day with a slice because the Used Book Café was packed with diners, yet I was too early for Cinema’s lunch and that’s all they had ready to serve. Chocolate cake for breakfast? Why, yes please.
The Canteen, on the basement level and surrounded by even more decorating goodies, offers a complete lunch menu and plenty of room for dining with friends.
Where: 111 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003. Shop hours: 10am-7pm. Café hours: 10am-6:30pm. Canteen hours: 12-6pm.
