About
Paris has stolen my heart, but it was a gradual theft. My first few trips to the City of Light were on business with my husband, not exactly romantic trips for two, what with meetings followed by business dinners, but hey, I was in Paris! I spent hours exploring the various museums and parts of the city, but much of my time was taken up on the Metro out to our hotel in La Defense. I know, I shouldn’t complain, but something was missing; that feeling of being less than a tourist and a bit more like a resident. That moment came when we rented an apartment for the entire family in the 7th arrondissement. The experience was unforgettable, going to the patisserie every morning for croissants , dining in “our” neighborhood restaurants, even finding our favorite pizza place (we where traveling with kids, after all).
I have since traveled to Paris by myself, staying in the same area, seeing the now familiar places and faces, knowing my way around without a map, most of the time. Each visit, Paris wrapped herself around my heart just a little bit more, and now the takeover is complete. Sojourns to Provence have rounded out the affair. Through French Cravings, I want to share with you my Paris and Provence through photos and stories, and I hope you enjoy the journey…
À bientôt! Katie
